Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Assessment: Observe, assess, document, and report resident conditions and changes during rounds.
  • Care Implementation: Ensure resident care plans are correctly followed and implemented.
  • Medication Administration: Give prescribed medications and perform narcotic counts (reconciliation) between shifts.
  • Physician Communication: Complete required nursing assessments before calling a doctor regarding any change in a resident's health.
  • Supervision: Monitor and oversee certified nursing aides.
  • Documentation: Complete accident, incident, and discharge reports according to facility policy.
  • Family Communication: Update residents' designated points of contact on status changes.

  • Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
  • Active status as a Graduate Vocational Nurse pursuing official Texas licensure.
