Job description

Painter
Job Overview:
A Painter I for Bastian Automation will be responsible for general painting of material handling equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is producing high quality and exceptional painting of various equipment that meets the required mil thickness per the specifications of the project. Other duties will include assembly and fabrication of other projects as well as general repair and maintenance of Bastian Automation shop equipment. The Painter I position typically requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) plus 1 year of wet paint experience.
Shift:
  • 3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:30 pm - 7:00 am

Job Functions:
• With guidance ability to produce high quality painted parts from blueprints with low rejection rate
• With guidance able to paint prep using sanding and grinding tools along with assorted chemicals.
• Keep work space in a neat and organized order.
• Show mutual respect for coworkers.
• Show up to work every day on time.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Overtime required when necessary.
• Follow safety protocols per JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel for this position.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
• Relevant painting experience preferred
• Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise
• Team player, able to take direction
• General knowledge of paint guns, paint boots, and paint accessories
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, repetitively.
