At a glance

Company: Gulfco Manufacturing
Location: Pueblo, CO
Pay: Starting wage up to $36/hour (full range higher, based on skills/competencies)
Job Type: Full Time
Shift: 4-day week (Monday–Thursday), 1st and 2nd shift openings
Experience: Expert-level / Senior

Why this job is worth considering

Gulfco is hiring Expert-level Manual/Conventional and CNC Machinists for roles with real autonomy — you’ll help determine the best run sequence for your own work orders to hit the production schedule, not just follow a set list. The shop runs a 4-day week (Monday–Thursday) with 1st and 2nd shift openings, and pay grows with your skills and performance reviews, with the full range extending well past the $36/hour starting wage. Gulfco also offers up to $5,000 in relocation assistance for eligible new hires who want to make Pueblo home, backed by the stability of a multinational private holding company with a small-shop feel.

What you'll be doing

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual/conventional and CNC machines to hit production rate, quality, and schedule targets
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical/engineering drawings, GD&T, process documentation, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and part requirements
  • Use precision measuring equipment — micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and other instruments — to verify parts meet spec
  • Select and use tooling, hand tools, power tools, and cutting techniques appropriate to the job
  • Set up fixturing and equipment for each job
  • Grind and sharpen tooling, including OD/ID grinding
  • Determine the best run sequence for assigned work orders to hit the production schedule
  • Guide, coach, and/or train less experienced Machinists, Machinist Trainees, and Machine Operators
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times

What we're looking for (Required)

  • Expertise in machine set-up, operation, and troubleshooting to consistently hit production rate and quality standards
  • Expertise reading and interpreting blueprints, technical/engineering drawings, GD&T, process documentation, and job orders
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, etc.)
  • Experience with tooling, hand tools, power tools, and cutting techniques
  • Comprehensive fixturing and equipment setup experience
  • Tool grinding/sharpening experience, including OD/ID grinding
  • Ability to guide, coach, or train less experienced Machinists
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Pay, benefits and schedule

Pay: Starting wage up to $36/hour based on skills and competencies, with the full pay range extending beyond $36/hour and opportunities for future increases tied to performance reviews and skill growth.

Schedule: 4-day work week (Monday–Thursday), with 1st and 2nd shift openings.

Relocation: Up to $5,000 in relocation assistance/hire-on bonus for eligible new hires.

Benefits:

  • Two medical plans (PPO & HSA), dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous paid vacation time off, plus paid sick/personal time off
  • Eight paid holidays
  • Employee assistance program (EAP)
  • 401(k) and profit sharing
  • Free life insurance
  • Free accidental death & disability insurance
  • Free short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Tuition assistance
