Role Summary: A Guillotine Cutter is a precision cutting machine used to trim, cut or shape large sheets or rolls of materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic or metal. A guillotine cutter operator is responsible for operating and maintaining these machines to produce accurate, clean cuts according to job specifications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Start, run and stop guillotine cutters, adjusting settings for different materials and cut sizes.
  • Prepare the machine or each job by loading materials, aligning cutting lines, and adjusting blade positions speed or pressure.
  • Identify job materials, cut exact amounts as specified and forward cut pieces to the next process step.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate and maintain cutting blades, rollers and other components report malfunctions to maintenance.
  • Receive, store and organize materials; prepare samples for quality checks.
  • Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure safe operation.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized for efficiency and safety.
  • Additional Duties
  • Maintain housekeeping in and around gluers
  • Ability to perform sorting of nonconforming products
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Safety Policies and Practices:
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, and Hygiene procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • All employees are required to wear safety glasses and steel toe shoes while in the manufacturing area. Sound protection is required in designated areas.
  • Keep work area clean and organized: remove scrap, sweep, and maintain clear walkways in accordance with housekeeping standards.
  • Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have mechanical skills, be accurate and precise, ability to use ruler, able to lift 75 lbs. or less, and be a problem solver. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision.

    Must be able to understand, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.

    Schedule:
  • Full time position; 1:00pm 9:30pm (2nd Shift) Mon Fri
  • Overtime, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
