Position: Product Engineer

 

About the Role: 

We’re looking for a versatile and driven Product Engineer to join our team and contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept and design to launch and ongoing product line support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, and wants to make a direct impact on innovative product development.

 Essential Functions: 

New Product Development  

  • Translate design input requirements into actionable engineering plans.
  • Lead engineering efforts for new product design, development, and prototyping.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, evaluate, and procure new equipment and technologies that enhance company capabilities through capital expenditure projects.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to define standardized workflows and support capable, efficient production processes.
  • Develop high‑quality technical documentation and supporting materials to ensure successful product launches.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Business Development to define product requirements, timelines, and project plans.

Product Line Support  

  • Maintain and update engineering documentation—including work instructions, SOPs, raw material purchase specifications and product specifications—for assigned product lines.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product design integrity, quality, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Produce engineered CAD drawings as needed.
  • Support customers by addressing application‑related technical questions.

General Responsibilities

  • Apply standard engineering processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines, providing technical guidance and cross‑functional support.
  • Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, equipment, and tools to enhance processes, expand capabilities, and enable innovative product development.

 Competencies:  

Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within ISO 9000 – Design Control or similar quality systems.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and SPC tools such as Minitab.
  • Preferred experience in:
    • Product, mold and tool design using SolidWorks
    • 3D printing for rapid prototyping
    • SSGB, CMM, GD&T and FEA experience is a plus
