What You Will Do

In this role, you will provide financial analysis and decision support to the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) within the Space Force enterprise. You will work closely with leadership to deliver actionable financial insights, support program execution tracking, and drive operational efficiency across the ESAG portfolio. This is a hands-on role: alongside analysis and reporting, you will execute day-to-day accounting transactions in DEAMS and support ESAG's reimbursable order-to-cash cycle. Your responsibilities will span transactional accounting, budget analysis, forecasting, performance tracking, and financial reporting—all aligned to DoD and Air Force standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive financial management and analytical support to the OCFO
  • Use tools and platforms such as DEAMS, FMSuite, ADVANA, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint to manage and present financial information
  • Assist in budget formulation, execution tracking, and performance measurement
  • Certify and process funding documents in DEAMS, distribute and load funds, and support month-end and year-end close
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvement
  • Prepare and deliver regular financial reports, forecasts, and briefing materials to senior leadership
  • Support data reconciliation, obligation/expenditure reviews, reimbursable order acceptance, billing, and collections — and the operational decisions that depend on them
  • Maintain compliance with DoD financial regulations, internal control frameworks, and fiscal policy guidance
  • Collaborate with functional teams to ensure accurate data inputs and reporting outputs
  • Provide support during audits and assist in preparing audit documentation and findings responses

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (any field), or an Associate's degree plus 8 years of progressive DoD financial management experience and DoD Financial Management Certification
  • Experience Requirements
    • Minimum 5 years of hands-on DEAMS (Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System) experience — funding document certification, fund distribution and loading, and month-end/year-end close support
    • Demonstrated experience across the accounting and reimbursable order-to-cash cycle: customer order acceptance, obligation and expenditure review, billing, and collections reconciliation
    • Familiarity with Working Capital Fund (WCF) or activity-group accounting principles. Direct WCF tenure is not required — ESAG's transition to the WCF model is recent, and transferable appropriated-funds and reimbursable experience will be considered
  • Security Clearance: Secret or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Space Force or Air Force comptroller (FM/CPTS) experience at the base, wing, or enterprise level
  • Experience with adjacent DoD financial systems (FMSuite, FRC, GAFS, IAPS, DTS)
  • DoD Financial Management Certification (Level 1 or higher)
  • DISA FAMIS experience

Benefits

  • Family Health Care (54% cost covered for the entire family)
  • Family Dental (54% cost covered for the entire family)
  • Family Vision (54% cost covered for the entire family)
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • Overutilization bonuses for Time and Materials (T&M) contracts
  • Lifetime Event Bonuses (e.g., child, marriage)
  • Profit-sharing arrangement for any work brought into the company
  • Unlimited Leave with Approval
  • 401k – 100% employer match on first 4% invested
  • $1,000 annual training budget
