Job description

Security Guard

The Security Guard watches and patrols hospital, building or office grounds and property to defend against damage, theft, of harm caused by others. Duties are performed unarmed. Walks or drives around premises to insure building or post security. Maintains a lookout at exits to guard against theft. Inspects identification of persons prior to entering restricted areas. The security guard observes activity at a particular post or posts and reports any unusual activities to the supervisor of other responsible person. Performs routine monitoring and reporting duties and follows specific guidelines for observing and reporting such incidents. Reports malfunctions of equipment that may impact the security and well being of the facility to supervisor and/or facility management. Required to interact with public and other facility staff with courtesy and professionalism.

Qualifications

1. Must be at least 18 years of age 2. Be capable of working efficiently and effectively at any time of the day or night, including irregular and unscheduled hours, after sufficient rest. 3. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required. 2. Must be able to acquire a Valid Texas Department of Public Safety Non-Commissioned Security Officer License with-in 45 days of hire. 3. Must possess the appropriate Texas Operator's and/or Commercial Driver's License to operate motor vehicles.
