As a Licensed Professional Counselor at New Mindset, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of clients, establishing and nurturing positive therapeutic relationships while upholding ethical standards.
• Conducting regular sessions with clients to explore their progress, stability, and any necessary adjustments to their care plans.
• Creating, implementing, and regularly reviewing individualized treatment plans to cater to the specific needs of each client.
• Maintaining thorough and up-to-date documentation, including progress notes and treatment updates, in compliance with our clinic's policies.
• Administering comprehensive intake assessments for new clients, ensuring an accurate understanding of their mental health needs.
• Conducting individual therapy sessions, typically on a weekly basis, to facilitate ongoing support.
• Engaging in individual supervision sessions to enhance personal clinical practice and professional development.
• Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare providers to ensure holistic care for clients.
• Adopting a growth mindset, continually seeking opportunities for professional development and self-improvement in therapeutic practice.

This position primarily focuses on youth clients, addressing a spectrum of mental health challenges and facilitating their journey towards recovery and stability. The ideal candidate will exhibit a genuine interest in working with adolescents and young adults, demonstrating empathy and understanding of the complex issues they face, including anxiety, depression, and other behavioral disorders.

To be considered for this rewarding position, applicants should possess:

• A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.
• Ability to satisfy internal credentialing requirements for clinical practice.
• A minimum of one year’s professional experience working with psychiatric patients or individuals in substance abuse recovery.
• Previous experience in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and the provision of both individual and group therapy sessions.
• Proficiency in using computers and basic keyboarding skills for documentation and reporting purposes.

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates who have:

• Experience in a community health clinic or similar mental health care settings.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practices.
• Specialized training or certifications related to youth counseling or trauma-informed care.
