Job description

About Markup AI

Markup AI is pioneering the AI content governance category with the industry's first Content Guardian Agents™—AI-powered agents that automatically scan, score, and rewrite content to ensure it meets brand, compliance, terminology, and quality standards before it goes live. Purpose-built for AI-first marketing and content teams, Markup AI integrates directly into LLMs, CMS platforms, and enterprise workflows through its API- and MCP-first architecture, giving organizations the confidence to scale AI-generated content without sacrificing quality, consistency, or trust. Backed by decades of expertise in enterprise content governance, Markup AI is helping leading global brands publish faster, safer, and with confidence.

Eligible candidates must reside in one of the following states: Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania

About the Role

Markup AI is building the category for AI content control, and we're hiring a Director of Growth Marketing to own the function that drives pipeline.

This is a builder's role: you'll set the strategy for how content, campaigns, and lifecycle marketing work together to generate demand, and you'll execute alongside an AI-native workflow rather than a traditional headcount-heavy team. You report to the VP of Marketing and own outcomes, not a task list.

What You'll Own

Content & Audience Growth

  • Set the editorial and social strategy that builds audience and authority, and direct execution against it
  • Own email as a growth channel, including newsletters and nurture programs that convert and retain, not just inform
  • Use performance data to decide what to scale, evolve, or test next

Pipeline & Demand Generation

  • Own the demand generation engine end-to-end, including campaign strategy, channel mix, and execution across paid social, content launches, webinars, and partner co-marketing
  • Drive measurable growth in pipeline contribution, MQL-to-SQL conversion, and campaign ROI; you're accountable to the number, not just activity
  • Build and continuously refine the lead lifecycle in HubSpot, including attribution, scoring, segmentation, and the marketing-to-sales handoff

Partnerships & Brand Programs

  • Direct partner co-marketing strategy and prioritize where it drives pipeline versus brand awareness only
  • Set standards for brand and creative consistency across all growth channels, working with outside creative resources to execute as needed

AI-Native Operations

  • Build and own AI-assisted workflows across the function, including content production, campaign QA, reporting, and research, so the team operates leaner and faster than a traditional org chart would suggest
  • Continuously evaluate new AI tools and approaches, and make the call on what's worth adopting versus what's hype

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of B2B marketing experience with direct ownership of pipeline or revenue outcomes, ideally at a SaaS or AI company
  • Track record of building and scaling a growth or demand function, not just executing within one
  • Deep HubSpot fluency, including workflows, attribution, lead scoring, lifecycle management, reporting
  • A builder of AI-assisted marketing workflows, not just a comfortable user of AI tools
  • Strong analytical instincts; you make channel and budget decisions from data, not instinct alone
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, comfortable presenting strategy and results to executive leadership
  • Experience managing external partners, agencies, and vendors with minimal oversight

What You Can Expect

  • A flat, informal hierarchy and quick decision-making processes.
  • Support in getting up to speed.
  • Teammates of all ages and backgrounds.
  • You'll join a really international team of friendly, dynamic people who are passionate about their jobs.
