Job description

Position Type: Full-time Regular, Exempt (Salary)
Department: Operations
Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Park City, Utah (on-site, with regional/national travel as needed)
Join Our Team:
For over 40 years, the National Ability Center has broken barriers and transformed lives through adaptive sports and recreation. Our lodge and program campus in Park City welcomes schools, clinics, veteran organizations, corporate partners, and returning families year after year, and we are looking for a Group Sales Manager to help that community continue growing. In this role, you will build new group relationships from first contact through booked stay, and nurture past participants into repeat visitors, bringing disciplined sales forecasting and pipeline management to a role that sits at the intersection of sales, hospitality, and mission-driven impact.
Job Summary:
The Group Sales Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and closing new group business for the National Ability Center, while also growing return visits among past participants. This role builds and manages a sales pipeline, working in close partnership with the Reservations team and Program Facilitators to ensure groups are well-matched to programming, lodge capacity, and staffing.
The ideal candidate blends a genuine, empathetic understanding of the adaptive sports and disability community with disciplined sales practice which includes forecasting, pipeline management, and sales planning - to consistently grow group experiences and lodge utilization. This is a full-time position with benefits, on-site 5 days per week.
Essential Duties:
New Group Recruitment & Business Development
• Identify and prospect new group opportunities, including schools, clinics, veteran and military organizations, hospitals and rehabilitation centers, corporate partners, and other adaptive sports or disability-serving organizations.
• Build and manage a sales pipeline of prospective group bookings, from initial outreach through proposal, booking, and stay.
• Represent the NAC at conferences, trade shows, community events, and partner meetings to generate new group leads.
• Develop tailored proposals and pitches that align a group's goals with NAC programming, lodging, and adaptive sports offerings.
Returning Participant & Repeat Visit Growth
• Partner with Reservations and Program Facilitators to identify past participants and groups who are strong candidates for return trips.
• Proactively reach out to former participants to schedule repeat visits, building long-term relationships that support retention and lifetime value.
• Coordinate with Program Facilitators to ensure returning groups' evolving needs and goals are reflected in future programming.
Sales Forecasting & Pipeline Management
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date pipeline and forecast data in Salesforce, including stage, probability, and expected timing of group bookings.
• Apply forecasting methodologies to project group revenue, participant experiences, and lodge occupancy across upcoming seasons.
• Develop and continuously refine a lead-to-close process, improving conversion rates at each stage from lead to booked stay.
• Participate in sales planning as part of a broader sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, aligning sales projections with lodge capacity, staffing, and program availability.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with the Reservations team to confirm availability, coordinate booking logistics, and ensure a seamless handoff from sales to stay.
• Collaborate with Program Facilitators to confirm programming fit, staffing needs, and accessibility requirements for incoming groups.
• Communicate group needs and expectations clearly across departments to ensure a high-quality, well-coordinated guest experience.
• Participate in the Scholarship committee to ensure all populations are being served regardless of financial ability.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
• Use Salesforce and business intelligence tools to track pipeline health, conversion rates, group revenue, groups experiences, and lodge utilization.
• Prepare regular reports and forecasts for leadership on group sales performance against goals.
• Identify trends and opportunities in group and returning-participant data to inform outreach strategy.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in a sales, business development, or group/account management role.
  • Non-profit experience, preferably within the adaptive sports, disability services, or recreation industry.
  • Hands-on experience using Salesforce for pipeline and forecast management.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools for reporting and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply forecasting methodologies and build a lead-to-close process.
  • Experience participating in sales planning as part of a sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We do not sponsor employment visas or other immigration processes to attain or maintain employment eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience recruiting or booking groups for a lodge, camp, retreat center, or similar hospitality/programming environment.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or within the adaptive sports community.
  • Familiarity with GoMeddo or similar scheduling/booking tools used alongside Salesforce.
  • Established network within schools, veteran organizations, clinics, or corporate partners relevant to group recruitment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong forecasting methodologies and pipeline discipline.
  • Ability to design and run an effective lead-to-close process.
  • Experience running or contributing to sales planning within a sales and operations planning (S&OP) framework.
  • Genuine empathy and understanding when engaging participants, families, and organizations serving individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects, relationships, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable being measured against sales targets.
  • Commitment to the NAC mission of inclusion, accessibility, and adaptive recreation.

Working Conditions:
