Overall Responsibilities

LG Magna e-Powertrain USA, Inc. is expanding its team in Troy, MI and is seeking a highly motivated and experienced, Sr. Program Manager to join our dynamic group focused on electric vehicle development. This position will concentrate on tasks for program development and timelines with cross-functional teams. You will coordinate tracking of deliverables, resolve issues, and maintaining clear communication with OEM customers and our headquarters in Korea.

Major Tasks Listed Below
  • Create development timing plan and manage each activity to launch program successfully.
  • Coordinate to release electric vehicle component software & hardware to customer.
  • Responsible for all development activities to launch program successfully as well as being the point of contact person for our customer and LG-Magna.
  • Support weekly meetings with customers to share the development status and major issue tracking and coordinate to resolve the issue in time.
  • Coordinate and attend various communication meetings with customers or suppliers in order to deal with program details.
  • Manage all activities to ensure current program deliverables are met successfully.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Program, Development, Validation, Manufacturing, Procurement/Purchasing, Sales and Quality teams to track progress against established Project timelines and milestones.
  • Maintain Program Status Reports (Program Management Templates) and use reports as a Management Tool for performance monitoring against Customer (internal / external) expectations.
  • Be involved in various Customer and LGM internal meeting to monitor and track the open items, and Lead Customer and LG Magna internal meetings. To deal with global teams, Evening meeting will be happening and needs to participate.
  • Be involved in hardware and software issues and support engineering team to resolve issues.
  • Investigate new biz opportunities and propose to Customers.
  • Report program status to the leadership.
  • Listen VOC and do some relevant communication with LG Magna internal team and leadership.
  • Local trip to customer facilities (Manufacturing plant, R&D center, etc.).
  • Overseas business trip to support program in charge.
Qualifications
  • Required bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ Program Management experience working directly with a customer in automotive industry
  • Understanding of automotive component development process and manufacturing process
  • Good knowledge of OEM process and requirements
  • Good Skills to use MS project and MS Office
  • Understanding of cost structure
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certificate by PMI
  • Comprehensive OEM or Tier1 Automotive experience
  • Experience with management tools
