Position Overview

Eaton’s Mobility Business is hiring a Plant Manager for one of their Vehicle Group North America (VGNA) facilities. This position will be based in Kearney, NE. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, Light Vehicle North America, this leader has responsibility for plant management including Production, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Program Management, HR, Finance and EHS.

The Plant Manager will set overall policies and procedures to ensure effective manufacturing/trading operations consistent with Eaton Business System (EBS), values and philosophy. This person will also lead the plant leadership team to develop plant strategy and tactics to achieve annual profit plan and long‑term strategic plan. The Plant Manager is also responsible for leading and implementing EBS, especially in applying the tools and processes to deliver exceptional business results. This person will interface with the sales organization to ensure internal/external customer needs are met.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the Plant leadership team to deliver safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives in line with the annual profit plan.
  • Develop and execute roadmap to achieve world‑class manufacturing metrics defined by Eaton.
  • Ensure continued improvement in all balanced scorecard indicators with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, culture, and cost.
  • Analyze short and long term manufacturing requirements and capabilities to meet annual profit plan and strategic plan goals within planning horizon.
  • Provide leadership and commitment to ensure continued improvements as it relates to safety, quality, delivery, culture and cost within Eaton Business System framework.
  • Manage the plant’s practical capacity to ensure profitable growth.
  • Analyze short‑term and long‑term manufacturing requirements & capabilities to help meet divisional goals.
  • Develop and maintain a high‑performance culture focused on continuous improvement and change; provide leadership and commitment to ensure continued improvements in the focal areas of safety, quality, delivery, culture and cost.
  • Create an atmosphere and provide leadership that allows each manager to utilize his/her full potential to accomplish plant objectives.
  • Provide decisions on quality related issues that cannot be brought to resolution at direct report level, and ensure compliance with all Eaton Quality System requirements including achievement and maintenance of appropriate certifications.
  • Monitor product quality levels and introduce and implement new programs to assure continued improvement that meets customer requirements.
  • Support meeting all of the criteria identified in the Eaton Business System, including Eaton Lean System, OpA, MESH, HR‑Ops review, MMA, EBE and plant security responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Automotive or commercial vehicle industry experience preferred.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Compensation

Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation and complete benefits. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program. The expected annual salary range for this role is $165,000 – $242,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
