Job description

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department for the Town of Garner is seeking an experienced, energetic, group fitness instructor for its adult exercise program.

Examples of Duties:

  • Teach exercises that can modified to fit all abilities, fitness and skill levels.
  • Ensure participant safety by monitoring techniques and equipment usage.
  • Make sure everyone leaves class feeling successful!
  • Be patient, safety-conscious, professional, reliable, and friendly!

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must:

  • Have previous experience teaching fitness classes.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain CPR certification within 6 months of hire is required.
  • Must be available to lead weekly sessions during the morning or evening hours.

Preference will be given to applicants that hold a nationally recognized group fitness certification.

Additional Information:

Pay rate will vary depending on teaching experience; instructors will be paid per class taught (up to $30 per class).
