Job description

Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Health & Wellness Group Exercise Instructor at the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut leads engaging, safe, and inclusive group exercise classes that welcome participants of all skill and fitness levels. The instructor plays a key role in building community, fostering connection, and creating a positive and motivating environments for all.
We are looking for instructors who can teach Spinning, Strength-based classes, and classes for Active Older Adults. Weekday (daytime and evening) availability with ability to sub is preferred.
Qualifications
  • Current Mad Dogg Athletics Spinningยฎ certification required.
  • Current Group Exercise Certification required
  • Group exercise or cycling instruction experience preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and connect with diverse populations.
  • Commitment to the YMCA's mission, values, and focus on community well-being.
  • Les Mills certifications or equivalent format certifications
