Description
Aquila's Group Exercise Instructor teaches a variety of group exercise classes at Aquila health & fitness managed centers and programs. The pay rate for the position is $25/class.

As a Group Exercise Instructor, your responsibilities will include:
  • Teach safe group exercise classes
  • Supervise group exercise areas
  • Demonstrate proper technique and modify movements for different levels
  • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
  • Implement proper rhythm, tempo, warm up and cool down
  • Monitor heart rate intensity
  • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
  • Adhere to client's policies and procedures
  • Assist in promotions and external events

Qualifications:
  • National group exercise certification (ACE, NASM, NSCA, AFAA, or ACSM) or Aquila approved certification
  • Specialty certification/training for any other type of specialty class (Zumba, yoga, spinning, etc.)
  • Active CPR certification
  • Related experience as applicable

Skills required:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of rhythm/tempo
  • Knowledge of movement
  • Customer service oriented

Qualifications:
  • National group exercise certification (ACE, NASM, NSCA, AFAA, or ACSM) or Aquila approved certification
  • Mad Dogg Athletics for Spinningยฎ
  • Specialty certification/training for Pilates based mat classes and Yoga
  • CPR certificationRelated experience as applicable (for specialty classes only; i.e. funk, jazz, latin, yoga)
  • 2-3 years of Martial Arts experience for Martial Arts/Self Defense classes
  • 0-1 year experience supervising adults during exercise
