Job description

The Fitness Equation is seeking a Fitness Director who is the senior leader over the Assistant Fitness Director, Personal Trainers, and Customer Service Associates in a club's Fitness Department.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and grow a team of successful Personal Trainers who have the primary duty of providing training sales and services inside and outside the club.
  • Manage, develop, and grow a team of successful Customer Service Associates to help maintain equipment and exercise area cleanliness, organization, and maintenance.
  • Sell and service personal training sessions, group personal training sessions, virtual training sessions, FitEQ sessions (TFE's introductory training package), and Fitness Assessment sessions creating appropriate fitness programs for a variety of customers with a variety of fitness goals.
  • Achieve monthly and annual team revenue goals established with executive management. Create revenue projections for programs and manage expenses.
  • Manage Fitness Department programs that provide benefits to members and encourage their interest in training services such as Fitness Department Demos, Member of the Month series, TFE App Fitness Challenges, etc.
  • Advise Personal Trainers and Customer Service Associates via recurring Individual and Team meetings on strategies to achieve department and company goals.
  • Continually monitor and assist members to ensure proper form is used when performing exercises in sessions or on the exercise floor. Develop exercise programs that are consistent with TFE's customers’ fitness and exercise goals and attract new members to the club.
  • Partner with Marketing, Membership, Group Exercise, Kidz Gym and other departments to support department and company goals.
  • Initiate and create friendly relationships with members, guests and staff to promote a positive, community oriented, work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Previous Fitness Department management experience with demonstrated success rate
  • Previous Personal Trainer experience with demonstrated success rate
  • An active nationally accredited personal training certification (example: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, or NSPA) OR a college degree in exercise related field.
  • Must hold an active CPR / AED certification.
