We are looking for an experienced seller-doer geotechnical engineer specializing in vertical construction, transportation, and contractor support to become a leader in our Atlanta, Georgia office. The candidate will also provide technical guidance, client relations, subject matter expertise, and multidisciplinary oversight to proposal and project teams, train/mentor junior staff, and provide innovative problem-solving leadership.ย

Essential Responsibilities & Dutiesย 
ย 
Grow our geotechnical practice in the Southeast by developing new and existing clients and markets while cross-selling GEI's other core business areas including environmental, water resources, waterfront, ecological, and civil engineering consulting.ย 
Exemplify commitment to technical excellence balanced with client-expectations and satisfaction, and profitable project management.
Serve as a technical leader and mentor.ย  Assist with recruiting and training of staff.ย ย 
Lead proposal efforts, presentations, maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participate in client-based professional organizations, and make presentations at industry events.
Manage the technical, financial and client relationship aspects of a variety of geotechnical projects with a geographic emphasis in Georgia and the Southeast.
Serve as a role model for leadership, company culture, and values.
Contribute to strategic planning at the office, regional and national level.ย

Minimum Qualificationsย 
ย 
Minimum of B.S. degreeย in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.ย  M.S. preferred.ย 
Georgia professional engineer's license.ย ย 
15+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering consulting, with 10+ years in a project/program management role.ย ย 
Extensive geotechnical background including a strong fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical or geostructural engineering, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, and groundwater hydrology
Seller-Doer with strong regional relationships, entrepreneurial spirit, and a successful track record in business development.
Established local (Georgia) network of clients and contacts, especially developers and municipalities.
Experience working on interdisciplinary design teams with the ability to be conversant in a variety of technical fields (e.g., environmental, civil, and structural engineering).
Recognized for technical excellence and the development of client-focused, creative and practical solutions.ย 
Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.ย 
Valid U.S. driver's license.ย
