As a lineman/groundman, your primary responsibilities are assisting with electrical power line construction, maintenance, and repair. You install both aerial and underground lines and monitor transformer function. Your duties include assembling and preparing the line apparatus, digging holes, padding ditches, operating utility vehicles, reading and recording meters, stocking trucks with necessary materials, using of hand and power tools, and cleaning up the area after project completion. You work on a team to ensure an efficient and safe work environment. A lineman/groundman works regular hours, but you must also be available in case of an emergency.
