Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, lead and manage branch office in providing quality service to members in account transactions, loan applications, and new accounts.ย  Effectively manage and coach branch staff to follow the Credit Unionโ€™s Member Service Standards, maintain accuracy in cash handling, and maintain sound operations within acceptable audit standards. Oversee day-to-day operations of the branch while maintaining aย positive and productive work environment by adhering to company standards.ย  This role is the acting manager of the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.ย 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
  2. Open and close the branch.
  3. Maintain staffing standards according to branch FTE analysis. Complete monthly branch schedule to ensure adequate staff for efficient branch operation.
  4. Adheres to company policies and procedures.ย  Ensures the branch is compliant with federal and state laws and agency regulations.
  5. Monitor and track branch activity, including number of transactions, consumer loan volume, and new memberships and cross sell activity, while monitoring errors. Coach/Counsel staff as necessary in these areas.
  6. Manage the security and safety of the branch.ย  Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
  7. Ensure that staff receives on-going training on security and robbery procedures.
  8. Conduct loan interviews.ย  Process, approve and/or close loans in accordance within established policies and guidelines.
  9. Maintain an adequate supply of starter checks and cashierโ€™s checks in the branch.
  10. Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems.
  11. Maintain Credit Union benchmark score or above member surveys.
  12. Maintain ongoing coaching and counseling with team as necessary.
  13. Serve as main vault custodian for the branch, which includes ordering the cash and currency, verifying cash received, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.
  14. Investigate teller losses and institute corrective flow of work and/or corrective disciplinary actions where required.
  15. Responsible for ensuring all operational reports are completed and delivered to the Retail Director and Operations Support Specialist by the 5th day of each month.
  16. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Thorough knowledge of credit union or banking products and services. Knowledge of branch functions, policies and procedures.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Minimum of three (3) years sales experience. Previous management/supervisory experience preferred

Strong interpersonal, leadership, sales and supervisory skills.

Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:ย  Work is generally carried out in a typical open office setting.

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:ย ย While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk and in meetings for long periods of time on a continuous basis; intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk; perform simple grasping and fine manipulation with fingers; reach with hands and arms; use a telephone or other electronic communication devices; stand for long periods of times at counter, printers; communicate orally and through written means; use standard office equipment such as computers, printers; write or use a keyboard to perform assigned duties; bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist while checking equipment; occasionally stand and/or walk over both even and uneven ground; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without correction.ย
