The role requires excellent time management, as delays can impact diagnostic turnaround times. Additionally, grossing staff must adhere to strict safety and quality protocols to prevent contamination or specimen mix-ups, and frequently collaborate with pathologists and laboratory technicians to ensure specimens are processed correctly. Adapting to new technologies and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of specimen handling procedures is also essential for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a grossing technician, and why are they important?
