The Avionics Technician troubleshoot repairs, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment. Perform and document all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions) Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner Operate ground support equipment as required Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations May assist with maintenance at off-site locations Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience. FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is required. MRO / Heavy Maintenance -AND- CRJ airframe experience preferred. Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred. If former military, those with military aircraft maintenance experience such as Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections is a plus. GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification is a plus. Certification from Avionics, Electric A/C Technical school or equivalent military training is preferred. Must possess their own tools. Ability to effectively communicate in English aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing. Must be comfortable with 12-hour shift work, which includes days / nights and weekends.
