Supermarket Associate

The grocery store associate is responsible for increasing customer trust and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service, consistent operating conditions, and a friendly environment.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:

  • Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers promptly, courteously, and amicably.
  • Offer product suggestions when appropriate. Store and rotate department products (groceries, general merchandise, dairy, and frozen foods) to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost.
  • Operate department equipment and tools.
  • Help receive supplier merchandise. Unload truck deliveries promptly.
  • Notify management about associate theft, customer shoplift, unauthorized discounts, property defacement, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Meet legal and company policy age requirements for job functions. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain it.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug tests and background checks.
