Job Overview:
Cub Cambridge is looking for a dedicated individual to fill a Full Time Grocery Manager position! The Grocery Manager is responsible to plan and manage the Grocery Department to promote sales and achieve profit margins and labor goals; ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, and a safe and positive working environment for associates.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers and ensure proper service levels and courtesy from all associates
  • Develops effective daily/weekly work plans based on weekly sales projections, budgeted labor goals and previous operating results
  • Implements and maintains coordinated, aggressive and creative merchandising plans, using Division guidelines, which maximize sales, variety and gross profit
  • Ensure accurate pricing and signage within the department
  • Supervises Grocery associates to ensure efficient labor utilization and effectiveness in meeting department objectives
  • Manages Grocery receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control and inventory to ensure proper product control and that gross profit goals are met
  • Trains and develops grocery department personnel
  • Supervises department safety and sanitation programs
Job Requirements:
  • Equipment operation (scanner, register, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom, calculator, etc.)
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Memorization, reading, writing and math
  • The position requires on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
  • Have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing
  • Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Walking on uneven ground
  • Reaching, bending, turning, repetitive motions
Schedule:
  • Open availability is required
  • At least one evening shift is required between Friday to Sunday
