POSITION TITLE:                                 Production Operator

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:              Production Supervisor

 

PAY STRUCTURE:                                Hourly

 

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:            Operate a variety of production equipment to produce quality products to meet the customer requirements.

 

BACKGROUND REQUIRED:                 

 

  • Should have reading, writing, communication, and math skills.
  • High School or GED

SPECIAL SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Reading and writing skills adequate for following written instructions and completing required documentation.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time (e.g., 8-hour shift or 12-hour shift) 
  • The ability to work in a noisy or “Non-Climate Control” environment. 
  • The ability to lift heavy objects and transfer them manually (Anywhere from 1-50 lbs.)
  • Great communication and teamwork skills 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow detailed instructions.
  • Must have flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Observe general and specific safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Responsible for checking mechanical safeties when taking over a machine.
  • Must be able to safely use a variety of production equipment such as robotic trim machines, rotary vacuum thermoforming machines, grinder, extruder, assembly machines, staple guns, scissors, and knives.
  • Rework and repair defective parts as needed.
  • Accurately complete the daily paperwork as required.
  • Responsible for the quality of product produced.
  • Other duties as assigned.
