Description
Patient Greeter - Cary, NC

Are you a people person who enjoys making others feel welcome? MainStreet Family Care is looking for a friendly, dependable, and patient-focused Greeter to be the first point of contact for patients visiting our clinic. As a Greeter, you'll help create a positive patient experience by welcoming patients, answering questions, and assisting them as they navigate the check-in and registration process.

You won't be checking patients in for them - instead, you'll be there to make sure they know what to do, have the help they need, and feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door. Greeters will also be cross-trained as Medical Assistants so they can provide clinical support when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and create a friendly, positive first impression

  • Greet patients as they arrive and help direct them through the check-in process

  • Assist patients with questions about the self-service check-in and registration kiosk

  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting when patients have difficulty navigating the kiosk

  • Help patients understand what information is needed to complete registration

  • Ensure patients know what to expect during the check-in process without completing registration on their behalf

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-clinic environment

  • Communicate with the clinical team when patients need additional assistance

  • Help maintain a smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic

  • Complete Medical Assistant cross-training and maintain competency in applicable clinical responsibilities

  • Assist with Medical Assistant duties when needed based on clinic staffing and patient volume

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Clinic Hours of Operation:

  • MainStreet:

    • Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

    • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Rotating Schedule:

Greeters work on a rotating schedule, alternating between 5 days one week and 2 days the next, including every other weekend. This totals 7 workdays over a 14-day period.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Friendly, approachable, and patient-focused personality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds

  • Comfortable learning and assisting with technology, including self-service kiosks

  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and helpful when assisting patients who may be frustrated or unfamiliar with the check-in process

  • Prior healthcare or customer service experience is beneficial, but not required

  • Willingness to complete Medical Assistant cross-training

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Position begins at $15/hr.
