Job description

Electrician (Seasonal) - Summit Station, Greenland
Polar Field Services, Inc.

The Role
Keep a remote Arctic research station powered and safe. You'll install, maintain, and repair electrical systems-from generators and distribution to lighting-while troubleshooting issues in extreme conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair generators, power distribution, lighting, and controls

  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics; complete work orders and logs

  • Support safe operations in remote, cold-weather environments

  • Collaborate with station teams and visiting researchers

Qualifications

  • Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license

  • 4+ years of electrical experience, including generator/power distribution

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and safety mindset

  • Valid driver's license and passport; able to work in extreme cold

Compensation & Benefits

  • $2,425โ€“$2,850 per week

  • Health & Welfare: $4.22/hour for the first 40 hours each week (included in weekly rate)
