AtkinsRealis provides cutting-edge engineering, procurement, construction and financing solutions to projects in more than 100 countries around the world. Our participation in the Calgary Green Line SE Segment as Delivery Partner is a key example of this.We are actively working on several other major Canadian Rail projects and have several other projects at the proposal stage or awaiting award.

The Systems Manager is a key leadership role within the Calgary Delivery Partner team for the Calgary Green Line SE Segment project. This position is responsible for leading the Systems team including Signalling, Train Control system, Traction Power System, Overhead Catenary System, Communications systems, and Light Rail Vehicles. The role ensures that all CGL LRT systems are technically coordinated, integrated, and delivered in accordance with project requirements, safety standards, and operational performance objectives.

Your role
  • Lead and manage complex rail and transit systems engineering workstreams, ensuring successful delivery of design and construction of communications systems, Signaling and Train Control Systems, Traction Power System, Overhead Catenary System, Light Rail Vehicle and Track. across the Calgary Green Line project.
  • Act as a senior technical authority for rail control systems, providing technical supervision, project management and strategic direction guidance for teams under each system.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary coordination across engineering teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure system-level alignment and performance.
  • Manage technical quality, risk, and compliance with applicable transit standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the delivery of systems construction and installation activities in the field as required.
  • Support Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance and Testing and Commissioning deliverables.
About you
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Signaling, or a closely related discipline).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering on major rail/transit, infrastructure, or complex systems projects.
  • P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering systems in a multicontract or multidiscipline environment (Delivery Partner, Owner's Engineer, EPC, P3, etc.).
  • Experience with systems integration of signaling, communications, traction power, SCADA, station systems, and rolling stock.
