What is a green card?

A Green Card, officially known as a Permanent Resident Card, is a document issued by the United States government that allows a foreign national to live and work permanently in the United States. Green Card holders are granted lawful permanent resident status, which comes with certain rights and responsibilities. They can eventually apply for U.S. citizenship after meeting residency and other requirements. Green Card holders must carry their card at all times as proof of their legal status.

What is a green card job?

A Green Card job refers to employment that qualifies a foreign national for U.S. permanent residency through employer sponsorship. Typically, such positions require the employer to go through the PERM labor certification process to verify that no qualified U.S. workers are available for the job. Once certified, the employer can sponsor the worker for a Green Card, allowing them to live and work permanently in the U.S.
