Summary | Objective


A Night Shift Team Lead is accountable for training, job setup, inspections, as well as processing customer parts per customer requirements while maintaining quality inspections and meeting production rate requirements for all departments processing parts on second shift. This role supports the supervision of employees and trains personnel.

  • Meet or exceed organizational goals for safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Knowledge expert on processes of services offered in the departments
  • Training new and existing employees to meet or exceed production requirements
  • Ambassador for the organization's attendance and performance policy

Key Responsibilities | TASKS YOU DO TO ACHIEVE THE ACCOUNTABILTIES


People:

  • Ensures company standards for safety, quality and customer satisfaction are met or exceeded
  • Assist the Night Shift Supervisor with leading, developing, directing, and coaching of employees
  • Effectively identify and address performance management issues as they arise with the team. If the situation requires guidance, seek support from the Night Shift Supervisor
  • Supports the performance review process for the second shift team by aiding in the writing and delivery
  • Creates journal entries for employees as needed for positive and constructive feedback
  • Give recognition in a timely manner for good performance to employees
  • Responsible for training employees, which includes techniques used on parts and processes to ensure rates and quality expectations are met

Safety:

  • Performs safety walks and corrects issues identified
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards. Ensure production floor is tour ready by ensuring safety hazards are identified and corrected and area is neat and organized
  • Follow proper safety procedures such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, gloves, respirators or other as needed
  • Assist in maintaining paint booths, floor and filters

Production:

  • Responsible for being the backup to the Night Shift Supervisor in their absence
  • Adhere to the 75/25 rule, 75% of time must be running production, 25% other
  • Perform the set-up for jobs for team to minimize production downtime throughout the night
  • Ensures all resources and tools are readily available at the start of each job for employees
  • Perform hourly checkups with assigned employees to ensure work is being completed timely, accurately and rates are being met
  • Verifies with employees that they know and understand where they are on rates on a weekly basis and gives feedback on expectations for improvement
  • Operate a forklift to move production and other necessary items
  • Assists with the delegation of jobs
  • Communicate with other departments, as needed, to share needed information throughout workday
  • Notify the Night Shift Supervisor of any necessary maintenance repairs needed

Quality:

  • Support the identification of gaps in rate discrepancies and address as needed
  • Visually inspects the work of the team to ensure quality standards are being met
  • Review and audit process cards for completeness and if errors are identified and communicate findings to the appropriate manager
  • Perform a quality & final sign off on job trackers verifying quality requirements have been successfully met
  • Performs nightly wastewater treatment care

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to use hand tools requiring using fine dexterity and precision
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and bending for 8 hours as the position requires
  • Ability to withstand occasional odors

Work Environment


This position location is on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to chemical or electrical shock risk.
