Café Sales & Service Staff @ Great Harvest - Bodacious Bread coming very soon to downtown Pensacola!

Description

The café sales and service staff are responsible for maintaining customer service, generating sales, food preparation, food safety, general housekeeping, merchandising, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all company policies and standards of behavior.

Essential Duties

  • Ensure that each guest receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service
  • Maintain awareness of all product information, promotions, upcoming events and advertisements
  • Responsible for generating sales and cross selling all products and services
  • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping. Keeping the sales floor and restrooms neat, clean and organized
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
  • Adhere to dress code, standards of behavior, all company policies, procedures and practices, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures
  • Safely handles all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation
  • Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner
  • Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations and reports all complaints and requests to management
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and special promotions at POS registers
  • May work special events and assist in all other departments; as needed with approval of supervisor(s)
  • Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers
  • Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash, etc.
  • Reports potential safety hazards and all employee accidents to the supervisor
  • Prepare food items according to the Par sheet
  • Ensure all items are labeled correctly
  • Prepare dressings according to the recipes provided
  • Bake cookies and bread
  • Detects and ensures disposal of spoiled or unattractive food
  • Completes production sheets and other records as required
  • Receive inventory by checking invoices to ensure all items are accounted for
  • Stock inventory in accordance with health code (i.e. no raw meats above raw vegetables)
  • Break down and clean work area at the end of shift (stove top cleaned, sheet pans cleared and cleaned, dishes, sweep & mop floor, cover food, ensure food is put away properly, etc.)
  • Make sure ovens are turned off
  • Ensure the building and facilities are properly secured
  • Performs all other duties as requested or directed

  • Maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with all guest services
  • Required to stand, walk, and lift items (up to 25 lbs.) on a regular basis
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to build relationships with customers

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, bending, stooping, and able to lift up to 25 pounds. 

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a regular, part-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours will vary to include morning, evening, and weekend work according to business needs.
