Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician who will provide excellent support to our manufacturing and office teams. Reporting to the general manager, the successful candidate will be a highly collaborative team member with a friendly demeanor and determined work ethic. In addition, we need an exceptionally well-organized teammate who can effectively multi-task and prioritize while taking the initiative to support the team effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses electrical problems, tearing down, repairing, and reassembling electrical apparatus, controls, instruments, etc.
  • Installs and tests or assists in the testing of electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Reviews instructions, drawings, sketches, etc., as to scheduled and emergency repairs, installations, replacements, etc.
  • Diagnoses or assists in diagnosing faulty operations and determines the best way to repair equipment, machinery, or buildings for routine repair and maintenance work.
  • Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates equipment.
  • Adjusts equipment for proper operation.
  • Fit, assemble and align gears, bearings, spindles, shafts, etc.
  • Performs or assists in performing plumbing, carpentry, roofing, etc., as necessary, for routine building and equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Operates machine tools to make replacement parts or perform machining on new or old equipment, parts, etc.
  • Inspects buildings and equipment for evidence of wear, defects, etc.
  • Uses various measuring and checking instruments such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Directs Laborers, Operators, or other assigned help in assisting in repair and maintenance work.
  • Utilizes overhead crane and jib hoists in handling and positioning material, equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Maintains all equipment and area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Follows all safety regulations and requirements in performing various operations.
  • Maintains maintenance software system to help manage, schedule, and document preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Maintains the grounds which includes grass cutting, painting, and snow removal.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED amp; 2 yr. technical school
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical experience in a related manufacturing environment
  • Well-organized and be able to adapt and effectively multi-task, prioritize
  • Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and schematics.
  • Proven ability to understand the mechanics of equipment repair.
  • Produce high-quality repairs on all types of equipment.
  • Strong analytical mindset, outstanding organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to diagnose all types of faulty operations and determine the best method of repairing, adjusting, or replacing equipment, machinery, grounds, and buildings.
