Job Description:

The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for directing the day-to-day development and execution of Visit Nebraska's marketing and communications efforts. This position independently manages statewide marketing initiatives, oversees creative production, coordinates agency partners and develops high-quality marketing materials that promote Nebraska as a premier travel destination. This role requires a creative, hands-on marketing professional who is equally comfortable developing strategy, producing content and managing projects from concept to completion.

Job Duties:

-Plan, develop and execute Visit Nebraska'sstatewide marketing and communications efforts.

-Independently manage integrated marketing campaigns from concept through completion across print, digital, social media, email and web.

-Create compelling in-house marketing materials including graphic design, presentations, publications, digital advertising and promotional collateral using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and related software.

-Capture professional photography (DSLR) and vertical video to support marketing campaigns, publications and digital content.

-Write and edit marketing copy for websites, publications, email marketing, advertising, speeches and media materials.

-Manage advertising, public relations, digital marketing, and creative agency relationships.

-Monitor campaign performance and use data to improve marketing effectiveness.

-Maintain Visit Nebraska's brand standards across all marketing channels.

-Supervise marketing staff.

-Assist with marketing budgets, contracts, procurement and invoice review.

-Represent Visit Nebraska at conferences, industry meetings, media events and partner engagements.

-Build relationships with tourism partners, media and stakeholders.

-Stay current on marketing trends, emerging technologies and best practices, recommending new ideas and approaches.

-Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least three years' experience in developing, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities, public information programs, and/or marketing/promotional campaigns. Required experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five or more years of progressively responsible marketing and communications experience.

Demonstrated experienceindependently developing and managing integrated marketing campaigns.

Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design, creative campaigns, and marketing projects.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and related creative software.

Experience with DSLR photography and short-form video production.

Experience managing advertising. marketing or public relations agencies.

Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work.

Creative thinker with a passion for tourism marketing and a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches.
