Job description

DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER: Founded in 1901, Feeser's Food Distributors is a family owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, that services the Mid-Atlantic region. Feeser's provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions.
SUMMARY: The Graphic Designer will use industry computer software applications to prepare concepts for presentation, create dynamic solutions, and produce design files for execution to the appropriate channels. The Graphic Designer is responsible for, but not limited to, print and digital items used in marketing collateral, advertising, social media, corporate communications, and other wide-ranging marketing messages and publications for Feeser's. Creativity, time management, critical thinking, and sound decision-making are important to this position.
The Graphic Designer is responsible for the conceptualization and design of solutions for various projects. A designer executes the work directed by the Director of Creative and Marketing to generate comps, create layouts, and final art.This position takes instruction from the Director of Creative and Marketing and executes that direction accordingly to come up with the best creative conceptual and tactical solutions for Feeser's.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design print materials, including (but not limited to) flyers, brochures, booklets, magazines, postcards, displays, and 3-Dimensional pieces
  • Design digital materials, including (but not limited to) social media graphics, web banners, presentation slides, digital signage, and email blasts
  • Research industry-relevant topics and use social media "best practices" to create and maintain a social media strategy
  • Post content to digital platforms, including (but not limited to) LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Make website updates on "back-end" using specified platforms
  • Ensure consistent use of Feeser's Brand Standardsacross all materials
  • Fulfill production workload as assigned by the Marketing Team accurately and on time.
  • Assume both design and production responsibility for projects
  • Provide creative input to Marketing Manager and Team when required
  • Attend meetings with other departments to provide input and support when needed
  • Package complete product, to spec, for third-partyvendors.
  • Coordinate and supply production elements - files, samples, reference materials, and proofs as required
  • Maintain accurate and complete production files and records
  • Use professional programs (ex: Microsoft Teams) to coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with Team
  • Attend regular Marketing meetings for check-ins and discussing projects
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date calendar within professional software (ex: Microsoft Outlook or Teams)
  • Work with the Team and Marketing Manager to ensure a complete understanding of the production requirements for each assignment
  • Use project management software in accordance with current procedures to track project statuses and plan upcoming projects

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Strong visual communication skills, including the ability transform data into compelling visual concepts
  • Strong graphic design skills, including layout, typography, and color usage
  • Ability to analyze information for presentation in publications and other marketing media

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in graphic design or communications or related field
  • Two to five years of related professional experience in B2B marketing, foodservice, distribution, manufacturer or supplier marketing a plus
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating branding, print, digital, and marketing design projects
  • Home office environment that is free of distractions and equipped with adequate wifi connection

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
