Job description

About us:

Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination located a short 15-minute drive south of downtown Montreal, within the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. We are currently expanding, unveiling new gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and specialized dining options.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a creative, adaptable, and "hungry" designer with an AI-first mindset to join our team. We are open to hiring at either a Junior or Mid-Level, depending on the candidate's portfolio, autonomy, and technical proficiency. The ideal candidate understands great design principles but also knows that efficiency, automation, and adaptability are part of the modern designer’s toolkit. You possess a strong marketing mindset, ensuring that every asset you create is optimized to engage audiences, build brand equity, and drive conversions.

You will work on-site alongside a talented team to produce high-quality creatives for digital and print. This is a role for a designer who takes ownership of their work - whether that means executing a polished layout with speed (Junior) or conceptualizing a new campaign from scratch with minimal supervision (Mid-Level).

What You’ll Do:

Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

  • Multi-Channel Design: Design engaging digital and print assets for email, social media, web banners, and promotions.
  • AI-First Execution: Use AI tools to support and speed up design workflows where applicable.
  • Web Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to design cohesive campaign assets.
  • Brand Stewardship: Strictly adhere to and help evolve brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints.

Mid-Level Responsibilities:

  • Campaign & Concept Creation: Assist with high-level campaign design and concept creation for pitches and new initiatives.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Oversee the design process from initial concept to final delivery with a high degree of independence.

Who You Are:

  • Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • AI & Automation Mindset: Naturally curious, proactive, and eager to embrace AI tools for both creative brainstorming and rapid design execution.
  • Bilingual Communication: Professional proficiency in either English or French, with functional to fluent capabilities in the second language, ensuring seamless collaboration on localized campaigns for the Quebec market.
  • Marketing & Conversion Mindset: A performance-driven approach to design; you understand how typography, visual hierarchy, and clear call-to-actions (CTAs) influence user behavior and drive marketing results.
  • Experience Tiers:

  • Junior Level: 1–3 years of experience, with a focus on production speed, accuracy, and diving deep into our brand identity.
  • Mid-Level: 3–5+ years of experience, with a focus on project management, autonomy, and strategic campaign execution.

  • Portfolio: A diverse portfolio showcasing your creative style, with a strong emphasis on digital marketing and email design.
Bonus Points For
  • HTML/CSS Familiarity: Comfort with email coding is highly helpful, or a strong willingness to learn the basics of email templates. (Expertise is not required!).
  • Industry Experience: A professional background or passion for hospitality, lifestyle, or gaming-related design.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Junior Tier: $40k-$45k/year.
  • Mid-Level: $52k-$65k/year.
  • Subsidized lunch.
  • Opportunities for professional growth.
  • On-site parking.
  • Inclusive, collaborative team culture.
  • Company-wide events and Playground Cares volunteer opportunities.

This isn’t just a design job, it’s your creative launchpad.

You’ll get hands-on experience, the chance to work with evolving tools and the freedom to help shape how a growing brand connects with its audience. If you’re ready to bring your skills into the future of design, we’d love to meet you!
