This is a unique opportunity for a 3D design professional who wants to focus on 3D development full time. QA Graphics is seeking a 3D Modeler Artist to join our expanding creative team. In this role, you will not only create high-quality 3D models and animations but also contribute to marketing content, immerse yourself in the building automation system industry, and work at the high standard exemplified by the QA Graphics demo reel. This full-time position is available immediately and will be located at QA Graphicsโ€™ office in Ankeny, Iowa.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and clients to manage projects and produce compelling 3D models, animations, and photo composites.
  • Execute versatile and precise 3D modelingโ€”including both high-poly and low-poly workflowsโ€”while adhering to design standards.
  • Handle texturing, lighting, and animation tasks to support visual storytelling.
  • Assist in producing marketing content such as videos, graphics, and interactive visuals.
  • Adapt creatively to client and team feedback; maintain flexibility under shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Provide internal and client-facing assets while helping to drive efficiency improvements in the design process.
  • Learn and immerse yourself in the building automation system (BAS) industry, developing visuals specific to this field.
  • Communicate ideas clearly and positively within a laid-back, team-oriented atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Fine Arts, Multimedia Design, or equivalent (4+ yearsโ€™ experience accepted in lieu of a degree).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a B2B or professional design environment, supported by a strong, relevant portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Cinema 4D (modeling, animation, texturing, lighting).
  • Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and similar tools.
  • Excellent organization, time-management, and independent work capabilities.
  • A keen sense of visual rhythm and pacing in animated work.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Familiarity with Octane Render.
  • Understanding of computer hardware (e.g. GPUs).
  • Comfortable in a small-company, collaborative culture.
  • Enthusiastic about learning proprietary automation software for control system graphics.
  • Strong creative design sensibility with meticulous attention to detail.
