What does a granite helper do?

A Granite Helper assists skilled workers in the fabrication, transportation, and installation of granite countertops and other stone surfaces. They support the lead installers and fabricators, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and safely. This entry-level role is essential for keeping projects on schedule and maintaining quality control in granite installation.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a granite helper?

To thrive as a Granite Helper, you need basic knowledge of stone handling, physical strength, attention to detail, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and occasionally forklift operation is valuable, and OSHA safety certification may be required. Reliability, teamwork, and effective communication are essential soft skills that help in coordinating with installers and ensuring safety. These abilities are important for ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe installation of granite surfaces in construction or renovation projects.
