Job description

Basic Job Description:
Performs a wide variety of duties in the grain elevator operations from loading trucks and rail cars, to grading grain and working in the truck scale. Performs heavy manual labor in most job duties.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Assists in the loading and unloading of railcars
  • Assists in the loading of trucks
  • Unloads/loads trucks at the facility
  • Performs general clean-up of elevator including sweeping, painting, and other general housekeeping duties
  • Assists in maintenance at the facility
  • Runs appropriate series of tests on different grain
  • Enters information into a computer
  • Weighs trucks in and out of the facility
Job Requirements:
  • Able to make mechanical repairs of equipment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Able to perform basic math functions
  • Able to read and understand measurements
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Other Requirements:
Works outside in extreme weather conditions. Able to work in environment with high dust levels. Able to climb ladders and rail cars. Able to lift, push, pull 50 lbs. on a continuous basis. Successful candidates must have the ability to work safely, communicate well, and perform in a team environment. Must be able to work in an environment with heavy grain dust.
