Description: Grain Elevator Maintenance Technician

Hourly/Full Time 


About the Role

Maplehurst Farms, Inc. is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Grain Elevator Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of grain elevator facilities and equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Repair
  • Monitor grain handling equipment daily and perform routine maintenance and repairs. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on elevator facilities, machinery, and related equipment. 
  • Diagnose equipment issues and respond to breakdowns in a timely manner. 
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. 
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs and management direction. 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation. 
  • Update equipment information, specifications, vendor details, and maintenance records within Agrisphere. 
  • Assist with facility improvements, fabrication projects, and equipment upgrades. 
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned. 
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices. 
  • Properly complete and maintain all required safety and maintenance documentation. 
  • Identify and report safety concerns or equipment hazards. 
  • Participate in safety training and maintain a safe work environment. 
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and millwright systems. 
  • Ability to safely use a wide range of hand and power tools. 
  • Welding and fabrication experience, including: 
    • MIG welding 
    • Stick welding 
    • Oxy-acetylene torch operation 
  • Ability to operate equipment such as: 
    • Skid loaders 
    • Front-end loaders 
    • Forklifts 
    • Other location-specific machinery 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. 
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, shovel, and perform physically demanding tasks. 
  • Ability to work in challenging environments, including: 
    • Extreme heat and cold 
    • Dusty conditions 
    • Elevated heights 
    • Confined spaces 
  • Ability to haul a trailer between facilities. 
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and commitment to completing tasks accurately and efficiently. 
Preferred
  • Agricultural or grain elevator experience. 
  • Knowledge of grain conveyance systems, including receiving, transferring, and shipping operations. 
  • Familiarity with grain handling equipment and associated safety systems. 
  • Previous experience maintaining elevator equipment and facilities.
