Job description

CDC is looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer seeking to join one of the leading companies in the glass and glazing industry! As a part of the CDC team, our Graduate Structural Engineers have the opportunity to work on the most visible elements of the most iconic projects across the United States and around the globe.

Job Summary

At CDC, a graduate structural engineer is responsible for preparing structural calculation packages for building envelope systems, with an emphasis on glass and aluminum curtain wall systems. Graduate structural engineers apply the principals of statics and mechanics of materials to determine forces, deflections, and stresses in framing members, connections, and anchors, and compare these values against allowable limits from applicable codes and industry standards, under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE). Graduate structural engineers will also coordinate with internal and external drafting teams to implement structural design requirements into shop drawing submittals. Our engineers make a difference by directly impacting the final product installed on a building and helping our clients optimize their speed of installation and use of materials.

The graduate structural engineer position is a full-time, in-office position at our Dallas headquarters.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline
    • Degree must be from an ABET accredited program
    • Course emphasis on structural engineering preferred
    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering will be considered with appropriate coursework
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred
  • Up to 4 Years Structural Engineering experience preferred
  • Some experience in the glazing field preferred
