Job Description

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a solid understanding of designing and integrating electrical assemblies into broader level aerospace systems. This role involves contribution to the detailed design, development, and execution of complex electrical systems projects. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality electrical designs. At this location, Coleman Aerospace produces complex single, two, and three stage launch vehicles used to support ballistic missile defense testing.

Essential Functions
  • Detailed Design and Development: Participate in the detailed design, development, integration, and test of electrical systems.
  • Technical Contribution: Provide technical expertise and contribute to a wide variety of problem‑solving efforts throughout the design and development process.
  • Project Execution: Support the planning and execution of project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
  • Systems Engineering: Apply systems engineering principles to ensure the integration and compatibility of electrical systems with other subsystems.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Electrical, Systems and Test engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Requires strong knowledge of job area.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., Xpedition Designer, PADS) and simulation software (e.g., PSPICE).
  • Systems Engineering: Basic understanding of systems engineering principles and their application in the design and integration of electrical systems.
  • Project Management: Experience in supporting execution of complex technical projects.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Problem‑Solving: Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
