Division Head – Hematology/Oncology – Detroit, MI

Seeking an experienced Division Head of Hematology/Oncology & Associate Medical Director to provide strategic, clinical, and academic leadership across a large, multi-hospital cancer program.

Position Highlights

  • Executive leadership of the Hematology/Oncology division, overseeing 40+ physicians

  • Serve as Associate Medical Director for the Cancer Service Line, guiding systemwide oncology strategy

  • Lead clinical, academic, and research programs across multiple hospitals and ambulatory sites

  • Oversee key programs including Bone Marrow Transplant, infusion services, and oncology service expansion

  • Drive clinical trials, precision medicine, and research initiatives in collaboration with academic partners

  • Support faculty development, mentorship, and graduate medical education programs

  • Maintain ~25% clinical practice alongside leadership and academic responsibilities

  • Work within a large integrated academic health system using Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology

  • Completion of Hematology/Oncology fellowship

  • Experienced physician with progressive leadership background (no new graduates)

  • Michigan license (or willing to obtain)

  • DEA, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
