Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
Serve as Program Director for the Future Education Model Dietetics Graduate Program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. This position provides oversight for coursework and duties associated with the regular academic and educational experiences related to the Dietetics Graduate Program coursework and related field placement. The Director provides leadership in recruiting, enrolling and retaining students in the program and ensures the program is in compliance with accreditation requirements.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. With an enrollment of 14,311 students in Fall 2024, the university offers 59 undergraduate degree programs, 36 master's programs, and 12 doctoral programs. It is America's top producer of Black graduates in Engineering and Agricultural Science bachelor's programs, as well as a top five producer in numerous additional disciplines, including Liberal Arts and Communications/Journalism. It also ranks no. 3 in master's degrees awarded to Black graduates in Engineering Technologies and Related Fields, no. 4 in master's degrees in Engineering, and no. 11 best business school for women in the nation.

The Department of Family And Consumer Sciences is one of four academic departments within the College Of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in three program areas with the following six distinct specialty emphases: child development and family relations, child development early education and family studies (birth-kindergarten licensure), consumer sciences, fashion merchandising and design, food and nutritional sciences (nutrition) and food and nutritional sciences (food science). Additionally, the department offers a Master of Science degree in food and nutritional science, a Master of Arts in Teaching in family and consumer sciences education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in child development early education and family studies (birth-kindergarten licensure). Faculty members are actively engaged in research that contributes to the body of knowledge in the areas of nutrition, food science, housing, apparel, textiles and family issues.
Minimum Requirements
Doctorate degree or in progress in nutrition, dietetics or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university
Higher education teaching and advising experience.
Registered Dietitian
Knowledge of ACEND standards of education and broad knowledge of clinical and administrative dietetics.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Minimum three years of teaching and advising in higher education; program coordination and administrative experience; industry experience, ACEND accreditation experience; strong technology skills, strong oral and written communication skills,; and proficient with statistical and financial concepts.
