Are you a software engineer who loves seeing your code make an immediate, real-world impact? We are looking for a talented Junior Software Developer Engineer with an active TS/SCI with poly clearance to join a fast moving, highly collaborative team supporting a critical microservice ecosystem.
In this role, you will not be buried in back-office maintenance. You will work directly with mission partners and customers daily, helping to drive system design and solve complex software engineering challenges. Using feature driven development, you will build, test, and deploy scalable web applications that directly support the Computer Network Operations (CNO) mission. • All applicants must currently reside in the United States

What you will do
  • Build & Innovate: Develop and maintain high-performance Java microservice web applications within a modern, distributed ecosystem.
  • Collaborate on Design: Work hand-in-hand with the Technical Lead to make key architectural decisions, solve complex design problems, and shape the product roadmap.
  • Engage with the Mission: Interact directly with customers and operators daily to troubleshoot issues, gather feedback, and propose innovative new features.
  • Ensure Quality: Support the end-to-end testing, continuous integration, and deployment of production ready applications.

What you need to have
  • Experience:
    • 3 or more years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
    • Or 7 or more years of experience (substituting 4 years of additional engineering experience in place of a Bachelor's degree).
  • Core Java Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Java design, debugging, and complex problem-solving.
  • Modern Frameworks: Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful web applications using Spring Boot.
  • Database Knowledge: Experience interacting with MongoDB or similar NoSQL/relational database technologies.
  • Quality Assurance: Practical experience writing and executing automated tests to ensure code reliability.

What we'd like you to have
If you have experience in any of the following, we would love to chat:
  • Full-Stack Capabilities: Experience with UI development using modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically Vue.js.
  • Event Streaming: Experience working with Apache Kafka for real-time data pipelines.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with automated build tools, continuous integration, and continuous deployment pipelines.
  • System Administration: Hands-on experience with Linux administration.
