Job description

Job Type:Student (Fixed Term)Job Description:The Graduate Research Assistant will be recruited, trained, and assigned for various research lab projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain training in biosafety, conflict of interest, research integrity, cell cultures, endothelial functional and reporter plasmid assays, immunoblotting and real-time PCR
  • Conduct specific assays and techniques
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the lab and organization
  • Participate in the Annual Research Symposium poster competition

Qualifications:

  • Academically successful COM or COB students
  • Proficient in analytical thinking
  • Minimum availability of 35hrs/week during the summer break (June-July 2024)
  • Minimum of 1-year research experience. If the candidate meets all other requirements and some preferred requirements, this requirement might be waived
  • Experience with research lab equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Transcriptomic analysis or Statistical background
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture
  • Experience in immunoblotting and/or polymerase chain reaction assays
