PLEASE NOTE: We are looking to hire one intern, with the intern working out of our Cedar Rapids, IA office and under a hybrid work model. We are unable to hire on a remote, work-from-home basis. This internship is not available for students who have completed their college undergraduate education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.

Position Overview:
We are hiring for a real estate internship. The internship requires a 20-hour work week during the school semester and full-time during the summer beginning in January 2027 and ending in August 2027, with the flexibility to extend through the end of the year.
Job Description
As a Research Intern supporting the Real Assets Client Strategy team, you will assist in collecting, organizing, and synthesizing data related to the macroeconomy, commercial real estate, capital markets, and other real assets sectors. This internship is based in our Cedar Rapids office, where you will work alongside the team in person to gain hands-on experience.
Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Support market and portfolio research efforts by analyzing data to uncover insights on commercial real estate performance, portfolio positioning, and sector trends.
  • Aggregate and summarize economic, real estate, and portfolio-level data, synthesizing information into charts, tables, and other visuals.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, memos, and client reports.
  • Help maintain and update real estate data files, dashboards, and financial models.
  • Attend internal meetings (e.g., strategy sessions, investment reviews) and shadow full-time analysts to gain exposure to the investment research process.
  • Assist with portfolio analysis projects, including reviewing property, loan, or fund-level data to support internal reporting, investment discussions, and strategy development.

The intern will support the current team of research analysts and may be assigned other tasks based on capabilities and evolving needs of the team. The internship offers opportunities for mentorship and learning from full-time analysts, hands-on experience with data tools commonly used in real estate research, and participation in meetings and presentations to observe real-world applications.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled full-time at a college or university pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • Internships are not available for students who have completed their undergraduate college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.
  • Strong written & verbal communications skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines consistently, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data visualization).
