EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education/Social Science, or related field.
  • Experience
    6 years experience in appropriate field that includes 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity.

    Experience working in an Academic Medical Center environment and familiarity with ACGME, TMB, and NRMP policies and procedures with Masters degree.
JOB DUTIES
  • Develops and implements systems to enhance the institutional oversight of all graduate medical education programs. Working directly with the Associate/Assistant Deans, Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Program Directors, Program Coordinators, and Graduate Medical Education office staff, creates and implements administrative strategies to maintain and enhance institutional and programmatic recognition. Promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement through assessment and monitoring of GME processes and systems; analyzes trends and implements changes as required.
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision to GME Office staff as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of and expertise in applicable accreditation requirements and their interpretation and serves as an institutional resource for Graduate Medical Education (GME) accreditation and compliance issues; works with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to ensure compliance with the ACGME Institutional, Common, and specialty/subspecialty-specific Program Requirements and other accreditation requirements as they may be applicable.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and legal issues that impact or govern the GME programs to ensure UT Southwestern and each of its training programs are in compliance.
  • Functions appropriately, proactively, and effectively with other GME staff to fulfill GME and Institutional missions, goals, strategic initiatives, and to communicate a shared vision for GME.
  • Serves as the primary GME institutional consultant to program leadership on matters related to program performance, accreditation, evaluation, and improvement.
  • Provides consultation and ensures timely and effective communications concerning GME accreditation issues and processes with internal (e.g., Department Chairs, Program Directors, Program Coordinators, etc.) and external (e.g., ACGME, TMB, THECB, etc.) stakeholders.
  • Analyzes and interprets a wide range of program performance data to drive continuous institutional and program improvement and develops and oversees initiatives to enhance program quality and educational outcomes.
  • Works with program leadership to track and prepare for program-level accreditation activities, including Program Site Visits, Program Self-Studies, Internal and/or Special Reviews, and implementation of program Action Plans.
  • Develops and enhances competency-based program curricula and assessment methods.
  • Assesses training and development needs for program leadership and develops and implements appropriate training activities.
  • Participates in professional development and/or scholarly activities relevant to GME and job responsibilities.
  • Develops and maintains competency and expertise in residency management system (MedHub) and provides consultation for program leadership in RMS utilization.
  • Assists Program Directors with the development of resident Performance Improvement Plans, Corrective Actions, Grievance, and Appeals processes; liaises with the Office of Legal Affairs as needed.
  • Collaborates with other GME staff and staff from the Dean's office to ensure complete and accurate reports that may be required by the state or other entities.
  • Participates in the planning and support of special GME projects and events, such as New Resident and Fellow Orientation, GME Educational Retreats, Forums, and Workshops, etc.
  • May represent the GME office as needed at various university/committee meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
