The Opportunity:

As the Director of the Office of Graduate Education within the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences, Sport, and Human Sciences, you will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of graduate student recruitment, compliance with policies, and alignment with academic programs designed to maximize student achievement and fulfillment of their academic goals. The scope of responsibilities includes coordination with and articulation of related graduate programs in the multi-campus system with programs in Everett, Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver. Responsibilities include budget management and strategic planning for continuous improvement of graduate student processes, including student orientations, continuous monitoring, and updating of policies for both faculty and students. The Director works in cooperation with the Director of Strategic Communication in the development, design, content, and maintenance of the college graduate program's websites to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the information. An essential and viable element of the Director's responsibilities is data development (inclusive but not limited to data entry, data clean-up, data analyses, summary tables and figures, and narrative reports), management of student records and data analyses, interpretation and subsequent reports over approximately 15 academic programs across the multi-campus system. These reports and the respective tables and figures are disseminated to senior administrators, graduate academic leaders within the College, and urban campus personnel to assist with data-based decisions related to graduate program improvement, streamlining of resources, and revising policies and procedures. The position includes the critical analysis, organization, and strategic presentation of and narratives for different venues such as college websites, recruitment materials, and related retention efforts. This position works in cooperation with the Coordinator of Assessment and Program Evaluation for the organization, analysis, and tailoring of data to meet the demands and standards of external accreditation and certification bodies. Additionally, the Director works to disseminate and present data to national organizations devoted to the ranking and evaluation across programs, colleges, and universities.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.
Monthly Salary:

$4,508.00 - $7,250.00 USD | Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Four (4) years progressively responsible experience directly related to the advising and/or recruiting of students.

  • In-depth knowledge of graduate curricula and degree programs.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with student information systems and database management.
