Job Summary
The CAD Designer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and revising 3D models and engineering drawings to support product development and document maintenance. Â This role ensures design accuracy, adherence to engineering standards, and alignment with APQP and new product introduction (NPI) processes while supporting cross-functional teams and customer requirements.Â
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
A. CAD Design & Modeling Execution
- Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorksÂ
- Create and maintain accurate engineering documentationÂ
- Apply ANSI and ISO standards in design and drawingsÂ
- Utilize GD&T principles to ensure design clarity and precisionÂ
B. Engineering Change Management (ECR) & Documentation Control
- Update and revise designs through Change Action processesÂ
- Accurately maintain models and drawings within PDM/Vault systemsÂ
- Ensure version control and documentation accuracyÂ
- Support design control requirements and traceabilityÂ
C. Product Development & APQP Support
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams on NPI projectsÂ
- Support APQP processes, including design reviews and validationÂ
- Communicate design intent, limitations, and manufacturabilityÂ
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimize designsÂ
D. Analysis, Testing & Technical Validation
- Support design validation and troubleshootingÂ
E. Project Coordination & Communication
- Maintain project timelines within design scopeÂ
- Communicate with internal teams and overseas partnersÂ
- Ensure timely updates and alignment across stakeholdersÂ
  Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree in CAD, Engineering Technology, or related fieldÂ
- OR equivalent combination of education and experienceÂ
Experience
- Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferredÂ
- Exposure to PDM/Vault systems and ECR processes preferredÂ
- Exposure to MRP/ERP systems preferred
Skills
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawingsÂ
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and methodsÂ
- Knowledge of APQP, DFM, and DFA principlesÂ
