Description
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lifeguarding Instructors teach valuable lifesaving skills while maintaining a safe learning environment. Lifeguarding Instructors will teach in accordance with the American Red Cross basic-level Lifeguarding standards and ensure the competency of each participant. Instructors will arrive on time, prepared with the predetermined lesson plan. Explain, demonstrate, and provide feedback while each participant practices water rescues and skills to proficiency. Keeps attendance and records of completion for participants.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous teaching, instructing, or coaching experience preferred. The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working with all ages.
EDUCATION:
Must be 17 years of age, a high school graduate.
SPECIAL SKILLS & TRAINING:
Coaching or teaching background is required including but not limited to any of the following: WSI, swim team, swim club, avid swimmer, coaching, swim lessons, or other formal training. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working with children. Must possess Lifeguard and Lifeguarding Instructor Certification. Will provide training.

5-28 hours/week; rotating weekend schedule.
