Description of Job Duties
The Women's Lacrosse Graduate Assistant position is an opportunity for a graduate student to learn and develop leadership skills by assisting the head coach with all aspects of the program. The GA will gain valuable experience supporting the student-athletes through their academic and athletic experience.
Responsibilities include assisting the head coach with day-to-day operations including, but not limited to; recruiting, monitoring the student-athletes' success and progress academically and athletically, organizing practice and game strategies, administrative duties, film breakdown; and assisting with fundraising and community outreach programs. The GA will also assist the Head Coach in academic monitoring and the integration of academics into our sport. We use lacrosse as a tool to help students develop good academic and life habits. Additional duties may be assigned according to the strengths of the GA and the needs the current team.
Statement on Diversity, Inclusion and Global Engagement: We encourage students to take time to study abroad and interact in a variety of groups on campus outside of the lacrosse program. We travel and recruit nationally and internationally and recruit without bias, spreading the North Central College vision to student athletes from all over the world.
Statement on Culture of Excellence: Our success as a program is based on recruitment and retention. This requires recruiting students who fit the North Central College mission. As an athletic team on campus, the bar has been set high for cultures of champions by programs that have been around before us, and we follow in their footsteps.
A student in the Organizational Leadership and Sports Leadership programs will learn and implement valuable leadership techniques to use with student-athletes through organization of study tables, grade sheets, and other academic affairs. The GA is responsible for assisting in leadership and development of the current team through team building and character development programs.

Job Qualifications
Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
Experience playing or coaching lacrosse, or athletic administrative experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Experience in college athletics strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record strongly preferred.
